Love you card

Hello Friends,

As promised, I will be uploading some cards I made for the 2013 Stamping Royalty contest in the Paper Crafts magazine. Unfortunately none of my cards won but I had fun making them anyway. This first one is my favorite. I hope you like it too.

Thanks for stopping by. :)

  2. I totally agree with Sharon, you ARE a winner! Just keep dazzling us with your card creations, and inspirational videos, and you will be discovered in due time. Meanwhile, all of your fans think you are a wonderful card-maker...AND video instructor, regardless of magazine spots! Your sincere ability to share the joy of creating is greatly appreciated, so it's kind of "their loss", anyhow. Laurie, THIS CARD, is a thing to behold, OMGosh, I love everything about it, from the design, choice of colors, to the lovely coloring, the layers, the painstaking attention to detail. Where did you get that wonderful heart design, it is breath-takingly gorgeous! Your cards are always so well thought out, and the craftmanship is amazing. Okay, I gotta know, who was the lucky recipient afterall? I do know you made the card to feature your talent, but surely somebody will receive this card, right? BTW, some of those flowers are popped up, right? OR, your coloring is just outrageously realistic. Either way....WELL DONE! I can't wait to see MORE!!! Eye-candy coming soon, right? LOL

  3. Dear Anne, you are so making my head swell. Thank you for all the wonderful accolades! I hope you're right and someone spies me and let's me get published in a card making magazine.
So you want to know about my heart and flower image eh? Well it's a sweet little trick that I came up with using a flower image and a heart shaped dies from Stampin Up. First I stamped the flower image (this one happens to be from Stampin' Up) then I positioned a heart shaped die around it. Then I traced both the inside and outside of the die to create the frame. You can do this with any shaped die. The flowers are popped up but I also used my bone folder on a mouse pad to shape/round the flowers a bit to give them more dimension. Thank you for noticing the details and effort I make to do a quality job. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, lol. When I made this card, I made a duplicate and gave it to. Y husband for Valentines. It's a bit girls but he liked it anyway. Haven't decided if I'll keep this one or give it away yet. Some day I may open a craft store and my hubby thinks I should stock pile a few of my favourites for display just in case. Thanks for stopping by. More cards to come. Hugs!
